Bluetooth 5.4

Version 5.4 of the Bluetooth Core Specification.

The Bluetooth SIG's Core 5.4 technical overview describes four changes in this version: Periodic Advertising with Responses (PAwR), Encrypted Advertising Data, the LE GATT Security Levels characteristic and Advertising Coding Selection.

PAwR is a new Bluetooth Low Energy logical transport for energy-efficient, bidirectional communication in a large-scale one-to-many topology. Encrypted Advertising Data defines a standard way to broadcast data securely in advertising packets. With LE GATT Security Levels, devices can indicate the security mode and level required for all their GATT functionality.

Advertising Coding Selection lets the host choose which of two supported long-range coding options is used with Extended Advertising. The document explains this version through these LE-side changes; the version number alone is not a guarantee of audio quality or range.
