Strengths and limitations

In Notebookcheck’s measurements the Mini LED display delivered an average of 747 and a maximum of 767 cd/m² in SDR with 7640:1 contrast, and reached about 1450 nits in HDR. Flicker (PWM) stayed at 20,610 Hz at every brightness level. In Turbo mode the CPU ran at 175/150 W and the GPU at 175 W; the Cyberpunk 2077 QHD test showed 106.8 fps with 53.7 dB(A) fan noise. Performance mode gave 102.7 fps at 160 W GPU and 49 dB(A), and Silent mode 43.5 fps at 55 W GPU and 34.8 dB(A). Criticism: loud fans, no PCIe 5.0, a plastic base that shows fingerprints, high power draw and no rear ports.

Owner experiences and issues

On the ROG forum one SCAR 18 (2025) G835LX owner wrote that under heavy load such as Witcher 3 all USB devices and the Wi-Fi card disconnected, and that USB audio devices clicked under heavy NVIDIA load; support blamed the audio devices. In a separate thread another owner described random full freezes with a grey/white screen in CS2, LiveKernelEvent 117 and 141 entries, and workarounds on BIOS 327 that did not help. These are two separate issues from two separate users.
