MSI presents the Vector 16 HX AI as a laptop for both gaming and content creation, with an AI-capable processor and OverBoost Ultra feeding up to 240 W to the CPU and GPU together. MSI
In Hardware Upgrade's RTX 5080 unit, cooling uses two fans and seven heat pipes touching the CPU, GPU and graphics memory, with air drawn in from the sides and exhausted at the rear. The team found the cooling effective but the fans loud at full load. The display measured about 470 nits, 1105:1 native contrast and roughly 95% DCI-P3; the team says the panel MSI calls "IPS-level" is a VA panel and saw a slight cyan cast in greys.
Hardware Upgrade: MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XW, GeForce RTX 5080 in a notebookIn PC Gamer's testing the RTX 5080 at 175 W delivered strong frame rates; the team found Extreme Performance mode very loud and Balanced mode clearly quieter while still fast. Battery life measured a little under an hour and a half. The thick 2.7 kg body, soft key feel and serrated wrist edges that dig in during long sessions drew criticism; the back panel gives easy access to the second M.2 slot.
PC Gamer: MSI Vector 16 HX AI gaming laptop reviewIn Overclockers.ua's PCMark tests at 124 cd/m² and Balanced mode, battery life reached about 10 hours in office and video workloads and 1–1.5 hours in games. The team liked the Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5 GbE, card reader and camera shutter, and named noise and weight from the cooling needs of the powerful hardware as limitations.
Overclockers.ua: MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG review, test resultsVerified owner EduardoF92 on PB Tech (September 2025) praises the performance and build quality but calls it the loudest of the nine gaming laptops they have owned, with fans still loud in Balance mode. The first Windows setup froze with the fans at full speed, and a clean Windows install fixed it. Outside games, they report the smart fan control sometimes shut one fan off and ran the other at about 4500 rpm.
