Multi-band GNSS

Receives satellite-positioning signals on more than one frequency.

Reflected signals and atmospheric effects can distort a position fix. Garmin’s manual describes multi-band reception as a way to improve track consistency in challenging surroundings.

Multiple satellite systems and multiple bands are different: one uses different constellations, the other different frequencies. SatIQ selects modes automatically to balance positioning and battery use.
