Garmin presents Enduro 4 as its longest-lasting solar GPS watch for long activities, with up to 320 hours in activity mode and up to 90 days in smartwatch mode; these figures depend on solar-charging assumptions. Garmin
DC Rainmaker reports that a 50 km route file opened in about 8 seconds on Enduro 3, Enduro 4 and fenix 9 Pro. Creating a running route over a mountain range took 1 min 15 s on Enduro 3, 45 s on Enduro 4 and 28 s on fenix 9 Pro; panning the map showed only a 1-2 second difference. He likes the perspective view.
DC Rainmaker: Garmin Enduro 4 Everything You Need To Know: What's Actually New?DC Rainmaker writes that Enduro 4 uses the same 280 x 280 MIP panel and solar components as Enduro 3, has a simple beeper instead of a speaker or microphone, and has no LTE or inReach satellite messaging. Most current fenix 9 software features are also coming to Enduro 3; the new map features need the extra RAM and processor and will not.
DC Rainmaker: Garmin Enduro 4 Everything You Need To Know: What's Actually New?The RunningXpert author says he has worn the watch: the MIP display is less sharp than AMOLED but readable in sunlight and uses very little power; at 66 g it is about 25 g lighter than the fenix 9 51 mm. He stresses that solar figures need strong direct sunlight, so figures without solar should be treated as the baseline.
RunningXpert: Test: Garmin Enduro 4: What's new, and who should choose this watch?User 7085344 describes the touchscreen sometimes needing 2-4 tries on two separate Enduro 4 watches (software 6.48, after a factory reset) and working when the bezel is touched. O5h3a reports a similar need for 3-4 touches. Another user suggests the 'Keys & Touch' backlight setting as a possible cause, a software behaviour he says he also reported on Enduro 3; a Garmin support representative suggests updating, restarting and removing any screen protector.
Garmin Forums: Firmware 6.48 - bug or hardware ? - Tactile screen not reactingUser 7085344 reports battery falling from 100% to 75% after setup, a music download and a 2-hour GPS walk on software 6.48, with the remaining-time estimate showing 1 day. SSerwin reports about one week per charge with normal use, while Blytz reports 62% after 8 days including 15 hours of GPS walking with a low-power watch face.
