Bluetooth 6.0

Version 6.0 of the Bluetooth SIG’s Bluetooth Core Specification.

According to the Bluetooth SIG overview, the main addition is Channel Sounding: the distance between two devices can be measured using phase-based ranging and round-trip timing, together or separately. The release also defines a new ISOAL (isochronous adaptation layer) framing mode that reduces latency, and frame spacing in connections becomes negotiable, shorter or longer than 150 µs.

A device listing “Bluetooth 6.0” does not mean it uses all of these features; the manufacturer decides which are implemented. The SIG overview is a marketing document and does not replace the core specification.
