LPDDR5X

A low-power type of system memory used in phones and thin laptops.

Micron presents LPDDR5X as low-power mobile DRAM and lists thin and light laptops among its uses. Its speed is quoted as a transfer rate such as 8533 MT/s.

Capacity, transfer rate and memory type are separate specifications. According to ASUS’s model documentation, actual operating speed may differ from the quoted speed depending on the processor configuration.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) GU605CX

The ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) GU605CX is the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU version of ASUS’s thin 16-inch gaming laptop: a Core Ultra 9 285H processor, a 240 Hz 2.5K OLED display, 64 GB of LPDDR5X soldered to the board and a weight of 1.95 kg. The GPU runs at up to 120 W, and Notebookcheck measured that this keeps the RTX 5090 below its performance in thicker laptops. Owners praise the display and portability; heat, fan noise under load and memory that cannot be upgraded are the most common criticisms.
