Tandem OLED display

A display structure that combines the light of two stacked OLED panels.

Apple explains that the iPad Pro’s Ultra Retina XDR display combines the light of two OLED panels, which raises full-screen brightness. The same release gives 1000 nits full-screen brightness for SDR and HDR and 1600 nits peak for HDR.

The two-panel structure does not decide the dimming method. Results such as flicker (PWM), colour and brightness are measured per product.
