Android 14

The Android release Google published in October 2023; the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Tab S10 family shipped with it.

Google released Android 14 to AOSP on 4 October 2023. On privacy, apps can be given access to selected photos and videos instead of the whole gallery, and the location permission dialog shows whether an app shares location with third parties.

Credential Manager brings passwords, passkeys and Sign in with Google into one interface. Font size can go up to 200%, with small text scaled more than large text. Health Connect keeps health data on the device under the user’s control.

For security, old apps targeting an SDK below 23 cannot be installed on Android 14. Manufacturers ship Android 14 with their own interface (for example Samsung One UI 6); update schedules vary by device.
