The Crosshair 16 HX AI D2XWGKG-211US is the US RTX 5070 Laptop GPU version of MSI’s mid-range gaming laptop: a Core Ultra 7 255HX, a 240 Hz QHD+ IPS-level display, 32 GB of DDR5 in two slots and two M.2 slots, one of them PCIe 5.0. The GPU can reach 115 W with Dynamic Boost. On Notebookcheck’s Core Ultra 9 sample, the display was bright and free of PWM; the single USB-C port, 8 GB of video memory and hot exhaust air were criticised.

MSI presents the Crosshair 16 HX AI as a high-performance laptop with Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors and RTX 50 Series graphics for gaming and AI-assisted workflows. MSI
On Notebookcheck’s Crosshair 16 HX AI sample with a Core Ultra 9 275HX and 16 GB of DDR5-5600, the display measured 472 cd/m² peak brightness, 1180:1 contrast, 99.7% sRGB and 95.5% Display P3 coverage, with no PWM flicker at any brightness. Out-of-the-box colour error was high and improved after calibration. The GPU drew 92 W in FurMark. The review reports playable frame rates at 1440p Ultra and little throttling, but says 8 GB of video memory can be limiting in demanding games. Negatives: a single Thunderbolt 4/USB-C port, no HDR or adaptive sync on the panel, hot exhaust air next to the mouse hand and high idle power draw.
