ASUS presents the SCAR 16 with its ROG Nebula HDR Mini LED display and an RTX 4080 Laptop GPU running at up to 175 W. ROG
In Notebookcheck’s measurements the Mini LED display delivered 503 nits and 1225:1 contrast in single-zone SDR mode, with full sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage and about 91% of Adobe RGB. PWM flicker was measured at 2.04 kHz at 10% brightness and below, and 20 kHz between 50% and 100%. The CPU peaked at 174 W and settled around 109 W; in Witcher 3 the GPU held about 170 W and 2500 MHz. Noise reached 58 dB(A) in Turbo mode and the top surface averaged 39.9 °C. The battery lasted 7 hours 14 minutes in the Wi-Fi test in Silent mode at 60 Hz. High DPC latency, a scattered port layout and the 720p camera were listed as negatives; with the bottom panel open, an optical sensor prevents the laptop from powering on.
