Strengths and limitations

  • In Tom’s Guide’s lab the screen reached 577 nits in HDR (the previous iPad Air managed 483), with 78.6% DCI-P3 coverage and a Delta-E of 0.27. In the battery test of web surfing over 5G at 150 nits it lasted 11 hours 30 minutes, an hour and a half longer than the previous iPad Air. Geekbench single/multi-core scores were 2600/10066. The review noted that it does not fully replace a laptop and that the total cost rises with a Magic Keyboard.

Tom’s Guide (13 May 2024), 13-inch test unit; the battery test used a cellular connection, so a Wi-Fi model may differ.
