Case46 mm aluminium; Ion-X front glass

The aluminium version uses Ion-X glass; the titanium versions have sapphire crystal.

Apple
49 mm, Grade 5 titanium; natural or black; 49 × 44 × 12 mm

Weight is 61.4 g in natural and 61.8 g in black. Fits 130–210 mm wrists.

Apple
DisplayLTPO3 OLED Always-On Retina, wide-angle OLED; 416 × 496 pixels, 326 ppi; 1220 mm² display area

Up to 2000 nits and down to 1 nit. Apple says the wide-angle OLED looks up to 40% brighter when viewed at an angle, making the watch easier to read without raising the wrist.

Apple
Always-On Retina LTPO2 OLED; 410 × 502 pixels, 326 ppi; 1,185 mm² display area

Brightness goes up to 3,000 nits and down to 1 nit in the dark. LTPO2 lowers the refresh rate to reduce battery use in always-on mode.

Apple
Chip and storageS10 SiP; 64-bit dual-core processor, 4-core Neural Engine; 64 GB storage AppleS9 SiP (64-bit dual-core processor, 4-core Neural Engine); 64 GB

The S9 SiP can process Siri requests on the device and supports the double tap gesture (tapping thumb and index finger together twice).

Apple
Health and motion sensorsElectrical heart sensor; third-generation optical heart sensor; blood oxygen sensor; temperature sensor; compass; always-on altimeter; high-g accelerometer; high dynamic range gyroscope; ambient light sensor

The electrical sensor enables ECG recordings and the optical sensor continuous heart rate. Availability of health features varies by country.

Apple
—
Water and dust50 m water resistance (WR50, ISO 22810:2010); IP6X dust; depth gauge and water temperature sensor

Suitable for shallow-water activities such as swimming, not for scuba diving or high-velocity water sports. The depth gauge is for snorkelling down to 6 metres.

Apple
—
Connectivity and locationWi-Fi 4 (802.11n); Bluetooth 5.3; second-generation Ultra Wideband; L1 GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou

This version has no cellular connection, so calls and data away from the phone need Wi-Fi. Location uses only the L1 band; there is no dual-frequency GPS.

Battery and chargingUp to 18 hours normal use, up to 36 hours in Low Power Mode; about 80% in around 30 minutes with fast charging

Fast charging uses the included magnetic fast charger to USB-C cable; the adapter is sold separately.

Apple
Up to 36 hours in normal use and 72 hours in Low Power Mode; fast charge to 80% in about 1 hour; built-in lithium-ion

The box includes a 1 m magnetic fast charger to USB-C cable; no adapter.

Apple
Size and weight46 × 39 × 9.7 mm; 36.4 g (without band) Apple—
CompatibilityiPhone Xs or later with iOS 18 or later (including iPhone SE 2nd generation or later)

An iPhone is required for setup and use; it does not work with Android phones.

Apple
iPhone Xs or later, or iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), with iOS 18 or later

The watch is set up and used only with an iPhone; it does not work with Android phones.

Apple
Glass—Flat sapphire crystal front Apple
Location—L1 + L5 dual-frequency GPS; GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou

The L5 band helps reduce position errors where signals bounce, such as among tall buildings and dense trees.

Apple
Sensors—Electrical heart sensor; third-generation optical heart sensor; temperature sensor; depth gauge; water temperature sensor; compass; always-on altimeter

The electrical sensor runs the ECG app (age 22 and over). The temperature sensor is not for medical use; it supports retrospective ovulation estimates in cycle tracking.

Apple
Diving and durability—100 m water resistance under ISO 22810:2010 (WR100); recreational scuba diving to 40 m under EN13319; IP6X under IEC 60529; MIL-STD 810H testing

The depth gauge is accurate to ±1 m; Apple advises against diving below 40 m. The MIL-STD 810H tests cover altitude, temperature shock, freeze/thaw, shock and vibration.

Apple
Cellular and wireless—4G LTE and UMTS; Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n); Bluetooth 5.3; second-generation Ultra Wideband chip

Cellular use needs a carrier plan. Ultra Wideband enables precision finding of an iPhone; availability depends on the country.

Apple
Controls and safety—Customisable Action button; Digital Crown with haptic feedback; siren; Emergency SOS, fall and crash detection

The Action button is also used for Precision Start, beginning a workout recording at the exact start. The siren sounds a loud alert to call for help.

Apple
Operating conditions—On wrist –20 to 55 °C; diving 0–40 °C; altitude –500 to 9,000 m Apple
