NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU

NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR6; it is not the same product as the desktop RTX 4070.

According to NVIDIA’s comparison table, the RTX 4070 Laptop GPU has 4,608 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit interface and 321 AI TOPS. Boost clock ranges from 1230 to 2175 MHz and GPU subsystem power from 35 to 115 W.

Because of this wide power range, the same-named GPU performs differently from laptop to laptop; a 115 W model can be clearly faster than a thin 60 W one. Check the power limit stated by the laptop maker.

It supports DLSS 3 (Super Resolution and Frame Generation). The desktop RTX 4070 is a separate card with 12 GB of GDDR6X and more cores.

MSI Sword 16 HX B14VGKG-063ID

The Sword 16 HX B14VGKG is MSI’s 16-inch gaming laptop with a 14th-gen Intel HX processor and a discrete RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. In this SKU the GPU runs at up to 115 W with Dynamic Boost and has 8 GB of GDDR6; it offers a QHD+ 240 Hz IPS-level display, up to 96 GB of DDR5 in two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 slots, one of them PCIe Gen5 compatible. In independent testing the CPU held steady at around 96 W in the top performance mode; the plastic chassis collecting grime, no charging over USB-C and weak touchpad palm rejection were criticised. Unlike this SKU, the tested unit had an FHD+ 144 Hz display.
