The CompactFlash Association's smallest CFexpress card format; it uses a single PCIe lane.
According to the CompactFlash Association, all CFexpress cards use the PCIe and NVMe protocols. Type A is the smallest format and runs on a single PCIe lane; the two-lane Type B can reach twice the speed of Type A and shares the size and connector of XQD.
Type A and Type B cards differ in size; the camera manual should be checked for which type it accepts. The specification has been updated with versions 1.0 (2017), 2.0 (2019) and 4.0 (2023). The VPG (Video Performance Guarantee) logo shows a card guarantees a minimum sustained write speed for high bit-rate video.
