Android 15

Google’s 2024 Android release; it brought platform changes such as private space, 16 KB memory page support and a new update mechanism.

According to the AOSP release notes Android 15 added “private space”, where sensitive apps can be hidden from other users of the device, mobile network security alerts when connecting to an insecure network, and Low Light Boost, which brightens the camera preview in low light.

On the platform side it added support for building with a 16 KB memory page size and the Virtual A/B v3 OTA mechanism, aimed at smaller and faster updates. Manufacturers ship Android 15 with their own interfaces (such as Samsung One UI 7), so feature availability varies by device.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

The Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung's thin flagship, standing out at 5.8 mm and 163 g. It has a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120 Hz screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a 200 MP main camera and a titanium frame, but no telephoto. To stay thin, the battery drops to 3,900 mAh and wired charging to 25 W. Tests find its battery the shortest in the S25 range; owners love its light weight and screen.

It combines a 6.9-inch QHD+ AMOLED behind reflection-reducing Gorilla Armor 2, a titanium frame, a 200 MP main camera and two telephotos (3× and 5×) with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy.
