Technics EAH-A1000

Technics' wireless over-ear headphones with 40 mm magnetic fluid drivers. They connect to three devices at once, support LDAC and LE Audio (LC3), and play digital audio over USB-C when wired. Reviews praise the sound and comfort, though some find the sound too polite; ANC opinions differ and there are complaints about the physical buttons.

From the manufacturer

Technics says the magnetic fluid, SST edge and carbon fiber diaphragm deliver low-distortion sound. It also claims, based on its own IEC-based survey of wireless over-ear headphones with noise cancelling in Japan as of 31 July 2026, a top-class adaptive ANC. These are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. Technics wireless headphones EAH-A1000 launch (Panasonic Newsroom Japan press release)

Strengths and limitations

  • What Hi-Fi? finds the sound clean, spacious and detailed but "polite": it puts the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Sennheiser HDB 630 ahead on rhythmic precision and dynamic subtlety. The slider on the right ear cup felt like "a loose tooth" on the sample, and the ear cups stick out more than the Sony's.

Review sample in Platinum Greige; most listening with iPhone 16 over AAC/SBC; firmware not stated. Review dated 29 September 2026.

    What Hi-Fi?: Technics EAH-A1000 review
  • TechRadar finds the ANC robust without hollowing out the music, calls are good and detail is high, but the tuning "a touch too cautious". The physical buttons on the right ear cup occasionally failed to register presses, including play and power. The reviewer found the transparency and attention modes light-touch, and there is no sidetone on the headphones.

    TechRadar: Technics EAH-A1000 review
  • Tom's Guide rates sound quality (5/5) and comfort (5/5) highly but the noise cancelling only 3/5: typing and chatter in an open-plan office, everything in a pub, and passing cars at home were audible. After eight hours of use, one hour of it wired, the battery indicator still read 100%.

The author's own sample and settings (open-plan office, pub, home); listening via Qobuz; firmware not stated. Review dated 19 October 2026.
