Magnetic fluid driver

A speaker driver in which a special liquid that responds to magnets fills the gap between the magnet and the voice coil.

Technics explains that the fluid reduces sideways wobble while the driver moves up and down, which lowers distortion through steadier motion. The company first used the approach in in-ear models such as the EAH-TZ700 and EAH-AZ100 and reworked the materials for the larger 40 mm driver in the EAH-A1000.

This is a manufacturer description. How much of the effect is audible depends on the headphones' overall acoustic design, tuning and listening conditions; it does not guarantee sound quality by itself.

Technics EAH-A1000

Technics' wireless over-ear headphones with 40 mm magnetic fluid drivers. They connect to three devices at once, support LDAC and LE Audio (LC3), and play digital audio over USB-C when wired. Reviews praise the sound and comfort, though some find the sound too polite; ANC opinions differ and there are complaints about the physical buttons.
