ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM

The PG27AQDM is ASUS’s 1440p 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor from 2023, with a WOLED panel, 0.03 ms response time, 1,000-nit HDR peak brightness, factory calibration and a two-year warranty that covers burn-in. Independent testing praised the picture and speed and saw brightness and the matte coating as limits.

PG27AQDM: a 26.5-inch (27-inch class) 1440p 240 Hz WOLED gaming monitor. The brighter PG27AQDP (480 Hz) and the QD-OLED PG27UCDM are separate models.

Specifications

SpecificationValue
Panel26.5-inch WOLED; 2560 × 1440 (16:9); 0.229 mm pixel pitch; anti-glare surface

WOLED is LG Display’s panel type using a white OLED layer with colour filters; each pixel makes its own light, so blacks go fully dark. Long-lasting static images raise the risk of burn-in.

Refresh rate and response240 Hz (DisplayPort); 120 Hz over HDMI; 0.03 ms (GtG)

240 Hz is only available through the DisplayPort input; ASUS’s signal table limits the HDMI inputs to 120 Hz. For PC games above 120 Hz, use a DisplayPort cable.

Brightness and contrastHDR peak 1,000 cd/m²; contrast 1,500,000:1; 10-bit (1.07 billion colours)

Peak brightness applies to a small part of the screen; with a full white screen brightness drops noticeably. ASUS notes peak brightness may vary with colour pre-calibration.

ColourDCI-P3 99%; sRGB 135%; factory pre-calibration report
HDRHDR10

Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support are not listed.

Variable refreshVESA AdaptiveSync Display 240Hz; AMD FreeSync Premium; G-SYNC Compatible

Variable refresh matches the monitor to the graphics card’s frame rate to reduce tearing and stutter.

Inputs1 × DisplayPort 1.4 DSC; 2 × HDMI 2.0; headphone jack; 2 × USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A hub

DSC (Display Stream Compression) compresses the signal without visible loss so DisplayPort 1.4 has enough bandwidth for high refresh rates. There are no speakers and no USB-C input.

OLED care and warrantyASUS OLED Care; 2-year warranty (including panel burn-in)

The warranty also covers panel burn-in; terms may vary by region.

Stand and mountingTilt +20° / −5°; swivel ±30°; pivot ±90°; 0–110 mm height; 1/4-inch tripod socket; VESA 100 × 100 (with kit); Aura RGB

The VESA mount kit is included in the box.

Strengths and limitations

  • Stuff South Africa rated the PG27AQDM the best monitor it had tested: near-infinite contrast, no blooming around bright objects and wide viewing angles stood out, and a factory calibration report came in the box. To the eye the screen did not look as bright as 450 nits, and turning on Uniform Brightness in SDR was recommended so the automatic brightness limiter is less distracting. The aggressive matte coating cuts reflections but reduces clarity in bright rooms. The port selection was a slight disappointment; the stand is sturdy and assembles without a screwdriver.
