Strengths and limitations

  • TechRadar found the A15 Bionic handles games and 4K video editing comfortably, and the battery lasted more than a day on a charge. The display was bright and colourful, but staying at 60 Hz, the notch and the lack of an always-on display put it behind the Pro models. The cameras were better than the previous generation in low light; the lack of optical zoom and macro was criticised. Action mode noticeably reduced shake by cropping the image. Back glass that can be repaired without replacing the whole enclosure and the new thermal design were noted as positives; eSIM setup caused no problems.

TechRadar review (September 2022); the eSIM-only model sold in the US, one test unit.
