Strengths and limitations

  • What Hi-Fi? finds the 13-inch screen sharp, natural in colour and good on shadow detail, with a slight contrast and shading edge over the 11-inch M1 model but behind the OLED iPad Pro. It finds the screen being locked at 60 Hz restrictive at this price. The speakers give clear dialogue in films; it suggests a Bluetooth speaker for music. The M3 has the same core counts as the M2, so the upgrade is small and makes sense for owners of an M1 or older model.

Owner experiences and issues

  • Best Buy's Space Grey 128 GB Wi-Fi page shows 2,170 reviews, and 98% recommend it. Across 19 visible M3 reviews, the large screen, lag-free speed and all-day battery get the most praise; AliciaM charges about every three days and IloveC likes the landscape front camera after six months. One user says the speakers could be louder and charging is slower than expected, MelaynaS finds the battery drains faster than they would like, and spmrl says after 11 months that the size makes it less portable. No visible review reports a hardware fault.
