PDF to Text (TXT) Converter

Extract the text of a PDF as plain text, Markdown or HTML, ready to copy.

Copying text out of a PDF usually leaves you with broken lines, split words and jumbled columns. This tool collects the text paragraph by paragraph, writes tables as aligned columns, and shows the result on the page so you can copy it in one click.

Markdown output keeps headings and tables, which makes it ideal for AI tools, note apps or a website. HTML output gives you a clean page that opens in any browser.

How to use

  1. Select the PDF file.
  2. Choose TXT, Markdown or HTML.
  3. Convert; copy the text from the page or download the file.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on scanned (image) PDFs?

Yes. Pages without a text layer are read with OCR automatically. English and Turkish are built in; add other languages in the language picker. Sharp, straight pages scanned at 200 DPI or more give the best results.

What is Markdown for?

Markdown is a simple format that keeps structure such as headings and tables in plain text. It’s handy when feeding documents to ChatGPT or Claude, or in apps like Notion and Obsidian.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. Reading and conversion happen in your browser. The only download is the OCR engine and language data, once; your document never leaves your device, so it is safe for bank statements, contracts and ID scans.
