PNG to JPG

Turn large PNGs into small JPGs and pick a colour for transparent areas.

PNG is lossless, so screenshots and photos saved as PNG end up much larger than they need to be. The same photo as a JPG is often 5–10 times smaller. This tool converts PNGs to JPG.

If your PNG has transparent areas, they are filled with a colour, because JPG has no transparency. White is the default, but you can pick any colour.

How to use

  1. Select your PNG files.
  2. Choose the quality and, if needed, the colour for transparent areas.
  3. Convert and download.

Frequently asked questions

Should logos and screenshots be JPGs too?

Usually not. JPG adds slight blur around text and flat colours. Keep such images as PNG or convert them to WEBP.

What quality should I choose?

80–90% is a very good balance for photos. Going above 95% makes the file bigger without a visible difference.

Where are my files processed?

Inside your browser. PNG to JPG uses the browser’s own encoder, and no file is sent to a server.
