CRW to JPEG XL Converter

Convert CRW files to JPEG XL. Batch, free and without uploading.

This tool converts CRW files to JPEG XL. CRW is the RAW format of Canon cameras. It keeps unprocessed sensor data; conversion uses the camera’s white balance and colour settings.

JPEG XL is a newer format designed to replace JPEG. It is very efficient in both lossy and lossless modes; browser support is still limited. JPEG XL is lossy, and you choose the quality with the slider. For photos, 80–90% makes the file much smaller with a loss you won’t notice. RAW files are large, so each photo may take a few seconds.

Conversion happens inside your browser; your files are never sent to a server.

How to use

1. Drag and drop your CRW files, paste them from the clipboard, fetch one from a link, or use "Choose files".
2. Set the quality and, if you like, a maximum size.
3. Press "Convert" and download the JPEG XL files one by one or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Will converting to JPEG XL reduce quality?

JPEG XL is lossy, but at 85–90% quality the difference isn’t visible. Lower quality means a smaller file.

How many files can I convert at once?

There is no limit. Select hundreds of files together and download the results as one ZIP.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your CRW files are converted to JPEG XL inside your browser and never sent to a server.
