Tizen

Tizen is an operating system developed as open source under the Linux Foundation. On Samsung televisions it forms the base of the smart TV interface.

The Tizen Project says the system was built for device makers, operators and app developers and comes in profiles such as TV, wearable, mobile and in-vehicle infotainment. The project sits within the Linux Foundation and is governed by a Technical Steering Group.

The interface on Samsung televisions is branded "One UI Tizen". On the R95H page Samsung says it will provide Tizen OS upgrades for the next seven years; this is a manufacturer claim and does not define the length of security patching separately. The model page gives no version number.
