Snapdragon Wear Elite

Qualcomm’s 3 nm wearable platform with an AI accelerator, introduced in 2026.

Snapdragon Wear Elite is Qualcomm’s chip platform for wearables such as watches, pins and pendants. It is made on a 3 nm process and includes an NPU that can run AI models of up to 2 billion parameters on the device.

The platform supports 5G RedCap, low-power Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB and satellite emergency messaging (NB-NTN). Qualcomm claims up to five times the CPU performance and up to 30% longer battery life than the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2, noting that results depend on each maker’s implementation.

Not every watch uses all of these features. Samsung, for example, lists LTE and Bluetooth 6.0 for the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 but does not mention 5G RedCap or satellite messaging. In Samsung watches the platform is used with a five-core CPU.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 (47 mm, LTE)

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is Samsung’s rugged smartwatch that went on sale in August 2026. It has a 47mm titanium case, a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display reaching 5,000 nits, the Snapdragon Wear Elite, 64 GB of storage, an 800 mAh battery, dual-frequency GPS, LTE and Wear OS 7, plus 10 ATM, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H ratings and an 86 dB emergency siren. Battery life stands out in testing and owner reviews; slow charging, lagging heart-rate readings early in workouts and Android-only support are among its limits.
