Technology glossary

Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2

A wearable platform from Qualcomm built on a 4 nm process.

Qualcomm’s product brief lists four Cortex-A53 cores, a 1 GHz Adreno 702 GPU, LPDDR4 2133 MHz memory, L1 and L5 GNSS and NB-NTN satellite support for the W5 Gen 2. The W5+ Gen 2 in the same document adds a 22 nm co-processor with a Cortex-M55 core.

Device makers use the platform in their own configurations. Qualcomm’s document does not define the name “Accelerated”; if a watch shows that name or a co-processor, the watch maker’s own documentation governs. The document lists Bluetooth 5.3 for the platform; the version a watch supports should be read from its maker’s documentation.
