Technology glossary

RGB-stripe OLED

An OLED arrangement with red, green and blue subpixels laid out in stripes within each pixel.

The PG32UCWM's Tandem RGB panel omits the separate white subpixel used in the earlier RWGB layout. ASUS uses it to reduce coloured text edges; scaling and the application's text rendering also affect appearance.

RGB stripe describes subpixel geometry; Tandem describes the light-emitting layer arrangement. Neither term alone specifies resolution, refresh rate or immunity to burn-in.
