In Android Authority's measurement (using the SoundGuys test), the earbuds played for 9 hours 32 minutes with noise cancelling on, about two hours more than the WF-1000XM4. Noise cancelling is on a par with the AirPods Pro 2 and Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2, and the microphones suppress background noise well. The buds are about 25% smaller than the XM4 and more comfortable, but mild discomfort set in after two and a half hours and they loosened while running; touch controls are sensitive and there is no swipe for volume.

In the 20 reviews on the first page, sound, noise cancelling and battery of about 8 hours get the most praise. Zach says the foam tips hurt after an hour and silicone tips spoil the noise cancelling, AppleMKUltraPro and Zach note there is no wax mesh on the nozzle, DannyMcC says the foam tips pull out earwax and finds call quality weak, Mela says the tips do not stay in during workouts, and Gavang finds them too large for small ear canals. LUISU and AnnaliesaM are happy after 10 months to a year of use.

Replies suggest changing the cable or charger and a factory reset, and finally point to Sony support; no resolution is recorded.
