Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus Wireless

The ACCENTUM Plus is Sennheiser’s mid-range noise-cancelling headphone. It uses the same frame as the ACCENTUM Wireless and adds adaptive hybrid ANC, touch controls on the right earcup, aptX Adaptive, auto-pause when removed, a carry case and a 3.5 mm cable. Sennheiser rates it for 50 hours of playback with ANC on. Testing found the battery, connection and ANC consistent; the sound was balanced but light on bass. The most common owner complaint is that the earcups feel tight on larger ears or heads.

ACCENTUM Plus Wireless around-ear wireless headphones; black (700176) and white (700177). The cheaper ACCENTUM Wireless and the higher-end MOMENTUM 4 are separate models.

Strengths and limitations

  • Trusted Reviews found the ACCENTUM Plus ANC stronger than the ACCENTUM Wireless; on a plane it suppressed more cabin noise and handled wind better, though raising the volume was needed to block outside sound fully. There were almost no connection drops in London train stations. Five hours of listening took the battery down to 90%, in line with the 50-hour claim. Touch controls responded, but some gestures took several attempts. Sound was balanced and detailed in the midrange; bass was punchy but lacked depth, and Bass Boost reduced midrange and treble clarity. Clamping force felt slightly tight on the review sample.

Owner experiences and issues

  • Most of the 195 reviews on Best Buy Canada are positive; sound, ANC and battery life are the most praised points. The most repeated criticism is fit: many owners say the earcups are tight on larger ears or squeeze on bigger heads; one owner found them too small and tried to return them, and an owner who wears glasses says the cushions sometimes bother them with glasses on. Several reviews say the touch controls, especially volume, are hard to use; one owner says the swipe gestures did not work at all. Isolated reports include flaky auto-pause, Bluetooth audio cutting out every few seconds on a Windows PC, and needing near-maximum volume on a phone. One owner reports a buzzing in the left earcup within two months.
