Lian Li LANCOOL III (black, LANCOOL 3-X)

The LANCOOL III is Lian Li’s high-airflow E-ATX-capable case. It ships with three 140 mm fans at the front and one at the rear, takes radiators up to 420 mm at the front and top and graphics cards up to 435 mm. Both sides are hinged tempered glass. In KitGuru’s test cooling was very good, and noise rose at high fan speeds.

LANCOOL 3-X: black version with four 140 mm PWM fans. The white LANCOOL 3-W and the ARGB-fan 3R-X and 3R-W are colour and fan options of the same case; the LANCOOL 207 and 216 are separate cases.

Strengths and limitations

  • KitGuru tested the case in hot weather with a Ryzen 9 5900X and a Radeon RX 6800 XT; cooling with the four included 140 mm fans was very good. Because the fans are clearly audible at high speed, running them at about 1000 rpm was recommended. The small screws on the SSD covers were criticised as a detail that makes assembly harder.
