This tool converts audio files between formats. Turn a phone voice memo (M4A, AMR) into MP3, a WAV recording into FLAC, or an OPUS voice message into MP3. Choose a video file and it extracts the sound.

MP3, M4A, OGG and OPUS are lossy, and you choose the quality (bitrate). 192–256 kbps is plenty for music, 96–128 kbps for speech. WAV, FLAC, AIFF and WavPack are lossless. Use the trim fields to keep only part of the file.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting MP3 to FLAC improve quality?

No. Detail lost in a lossy file doesn’t come back; FLAC only stores what is there without further loss.

Can I turn a WhatsApp voice note (OPUS/OGG) into MP3?

Yes. Select the file and choose MP3.

Can I make an iPhone ringtone?

Yes, choose M4R. Ringtones can be at most 40 seconds, so use the trim fields.
