This tool converts HEIC files to JPEG XL. HEIC (HEIF) is the photo format of iPhones and some Android phones. It is about half the size of JPG, but Windows and many websites can’t open it directly.

JPEG XL is a newer format designed to replace JPEG. It is very efficient in both lossy and lossless modes; browser support is still limited. JPEG XL is lossy, and you choose the quality with the slider. For photos, 80–90% makes the file much smaller with a loss you won’t notice.

Will converting to JPEG XL reduce quality?
