HEIC to JPG

Turn iPhone photos (HEIC) into JPGs that open everywhere.

iPhones save photos in HEIC format by default. HEIC files are about half the size of JPGs, but they may not open on Windows, on some websites or in online forms. This tool converts HEIC photos to JPG, or to PNG or WEBP if you prefer.

You may not want to upload personal photos to a website, and here you don’t have to: the conversion happens inside your browser and the photos stay on your device. Location data is also stripped from the output.

How to use

  1. Select your HEIC photos or drag them into the box. You can add a whole album.
  2. Choose the quality. 90% looks practically identical.
  3. Press "Convert" and download the JPGs one by one or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Can my iPhone take JPG photos instead of HEIC?

Yes. Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose "Most Compatible"; new photos will be saved as JPG. For photos you have already taken, you need a converter like this one.

What about Live Photos?

The main still image inside the HEIC file is converted. The moving part of a Live Photo is a separate video file and is not part of this conversion.

Why does it take a few seconds?

Decoding HEIC needs the ImageMagick engine, which is downloaded once on first use. After that each photo usually converts in a second or two, depending on your device.
