X-Trans CMOS 4

Fujifilm's back-illuminated 26.1 MP APS-C sensor with its own colour filter layout.

X-Trans is Fujifilm's colour filter layout, different from the common Bayer pattern. Every row and column contains red, green and blue pixels, and green pixels sit on every diagonal. Fujifilm says this low-periodic layout keeps moiré under control.

Because of this, no optical low-pass filter is placed in front of the sensor; Fujifilm credits this for high resolution.

X-Trans CMOS 4 is a back-illuminated (BSI) 26.1 MP APS-C sensor introduced in 2018. The same sensor is used with different image processors in different Fujifilm cameras, so AF and video features vary with the processor.
