Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy

The version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offered for the Galaxy S24 series with a higher prime-core clock.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a 4 nm mobile platform. According to Qualcomm’s product brief, the standard version has one Cortex-X4 prime core up to 3.3 GHz plus five performance and two efficiency cores, with LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0, the Snapdragon X75 modem and FastConnect 7800 with Wi-Fi 7.

For the Galaxy version, Samsung’s spec sheet lists 3.39 / 3.1 / 2.9 / 2.2 GHz clock tiers across eight cores. The prime core therefore runs slightly faster than on the standard chip; architecture and connectivity come from the same family.

The platform’s AI engine targets on-device language models. Qualcomm cites models of up to 10 billion parameters and up to 20 tokens per second with 7B Llama 2; these are manufacturer lab figures.
