Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 290HX Plus

An Arrow Lake-based Intel processor for gaming and high-performance laptops. It has 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficient), 24 threads and a turbo speed up to 5.5 GHz.

According to Intel's product page the chip launched in Q1 2026; the cores have no Hyper-Threading, so the thread count equals the core count. The performance-core base is 2.7 GHz, the efficient-core base 1.8 GHz and the efficient-core turbo 4.7 GHz. It has 36 MB of Intel Smart Cache.

Base power is listed at 55 W and maximum turbo power at 160 W. Intel lists memory up to DDR5-6400, 24 PCIe lanes (5.0 and 4.0) and an Intel AI Boost NPU. A laptop's real speed depends on the maker's power and cooling tuning; the chip's limits on paper are not held for the same duration in every product.
