Corning Gorilla Armor

Corning’s anti-reflective, scratch-resistant phone cover material, first used on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Corning says Gorilla Armor reduces reflection by up to 75% compared with a typical glass surface. That means a more readable screen in sunlight and less glare.

In Corning’s own “Scratch Bot” lab test, which mimics everyday micro-scratches, no visible scratches appeared and scratch resistance was more than four times better than competing aluminosilicate glass. Corning also claims up to three times better results when dropped onto concrete-like surfaces; drop heights are not given.

These figures are manufacturer lab results and do not guarantee that a given phone will survive a drop. Gorilla Armor 2 (Galaxy S25 Ultra) is a separate glass-ceramic product.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is Samsung’s 6.8-inch flagship with a titanium frame and built-in S Pen. It offers the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, a 1–120 Hz QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an anti-reflective Gorilla Armor cover, a 200 MP main camera plus 3× and 5× optical telephotos; Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades. In independent testing it reached 69% in half an hour with a 45 W adapter and topped 2400 nits in a small white window. Owners are happy with the camera, display and battery life; size and weight are the most common drawbacks.
