Technology glossary
A Bluetooth audio feature intended to transmit CD-resolution sound losslessly between a compatible source and headphones.
On MTW5, Lossless is 16-bit/44.1 kHz; Hi-Res uses compressed 24-bit/96 kHz transmission. A higher sample rate does not automatically mean lossless audio.
Both ends must support aptX Adaptive/Lossless and the appropriate mode must be selected. Poor radio conditions can trigger fallback to aptX Adaptive. A direct iPhone AAC connection is not aptX Lossless.
