AMD Ryzen 7 8700F

AMD’s 8-core AM5 Zen 4 desktop processor without integrated graphics.

The Ryzen 7 8700F has 8 cores and 16 threads, a 4.1 GHz base and up to 5.0 GHz boost clock, and 8 MB L2 plus 16 MB L3 cache. It is based on the TSMC 4 nm Phoenix design with a default 65 W TDP (configurable 45–65 W). AMD also lists an AI engine of up to 16 TOPS.

The F suffix means the integrated graphics are disabled: the system needs a separate graphics card to output video. The processor runs on AM5 with chipsets such as A620, B650, X670, X870 and B850.

It supports dual-channel DDR5 up to 256 GB. AMD lists DDR5-5200 with one or two modules per channel and DDR5-3600 with four modules. It offers 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes, so a PCIe 5.0 graphics card or SSD runs at 4.0 speed with this CPU.

It carries an 8-core AM5 Ryzen 7 8700F, a desktop RTX 5060 with 8 GB of GDDR7, a B650 chipset, 16 GB of DDR5, a 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, a 650 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply and an air cooler, plus Wi-Fi 6E and a 20 Gbit/s USB-C port on the front. The CPU has no integrated graphics, so the monitor connects to the graphics card. Two M.2 and four SATA connections leave room for more storage later. The few readable owner reviews are happy with 1080p gaming performance and upgradability.
