AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS

AMD’s six-core laptop processor from the Ryzen 7000 series, codenamed Phoenix, mixing Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 7 7445HS has six cores and 12 threads, made up of two Zen 4 and four Zen 4c cores. Base clock is 3.55 GHz (3.2 GHz on the Zen 4 cores) with up to 4.7 GHz boost, plus 6 MB L2 and 16 MB L3 cache. It is built on TSMC 4 nm FinFET, and AMD lists its launch date as May 2023.

Default TDP is 35 W, and laptop makers can configure it between 20 and 40 W. Despite the “Ryzen 7” name it has six cores; the Zen 4c cores are smaller and run at lower clocks.

The integrated graphics are a four-core Radeon 740M running at up to 2,700 MHz, which is why the chip usually appears in gaming laptops with a discrete graphics card. It supports DDR5-5600 or LPDDR5x-7500 memory, PCIe 4.0 and up to two native USB4 (40 Gbit/s) controllers; whether a laptop actually has a USB4 port depends on the maker’s design.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 FA607NUG-BH73-CB (Ryzen 7 7445HS, RTX 4050)

The TUF Gaming A16 FA607NUG is an entry-level 16-inch gaming laptop. It pairs the six-core Ryzen 7 7445HS with an RTX 4050 Laptop GPU that can draw up to 140 W, on a 1920 × 1200, 144 Hz display. Two SO-DIMM memory slots and two M.2 slots let you add RAM and storage later, although ASUS says the second SSD slot runs at restricted bandwidth with this processor. The 56 Wh battery is smaller than the 90 Wh pack in the family’s larger model.
