be quiet! Light Base 500 LX

The Light Base 500 LX is a dual-chamber ATX chassis with glass front and side panels. Its angled three-fan side tray slides upward for removal. The PSU and drives sit in the rear chamber; longer power supplies need careful planning for cable bends.

Strengths and limitations

  • Club386 finds the removable side-fan tray useful. Its 180 mm PSU leaves tight rear cable space, and the reviewer recommends planning access to upper motherboard connectors before fitting the top radiator.

Club386: Light Base 500 LX build review
  • Guru3D’s Hilbert Hagedoorn says the angled fan layout is a useful design aimed at cooling the graphics card directly, and that the two PSU positions and included vertical GPU mount suit back-connector motherboards. Downsides include fewer drive bays, the LX’s ARGB hub occupying one drive bay, a mid-tower size that may feel cramped for extreme custom loops, and no front USB 2.0 or SD card reader.

Hilbert Hagedoorn’s single-sample review; the final page does not state the colour tested or measured temperature/noise figures.

Owner experiences and issues

  • LDLC buyers Yuna3l praise sturdiness and room for a 360 mm liquid cooler. AlexisS likes the layout but notes purchasing the additional bottom fans separately.

Black BGW85; retailer shows purchase dates, both reviews about a month after purchase; incentive status unspecified.
